Healthy Living – Day 13

Running. I started training back in January with a Couch-to-5K app on my iPhone. A month or so in, and my right foot and ankle had a sudden onset of pain when I walked. A trip to an orthopedist, and it was determined that I had inflamed practically every tendon my foot. I was ordered into a walking boot, prescribed a series of steroid and anti-inflammatory medications, and was told to hold off on running. As my ankle’s been feeling much better lately, and I’ve revamped my weight loss/health activities, I figured now was as good a time as any to ease my way back into the running (as tolerable – per doctor’s orders). Yep. All of the success I was seeing a few months ago has lapsed. I was sucking wind harder than Monica Lewinsky was sucking on other things. My plan is to perhaps run every other day and then fill in those non-run days with some additional exercise – either with Jillian Michaels, Susan Powter, or perhaps even some Billy Blanks.
